Teutonia Männerchor Dress Codes
At the September 2021 General Membership meeting, a vote was taken by the Membership to add a third category to the Teutonia Männerchor dress code. The new dress category, Business Casual, was approved for various functions at the Männerchor.
Along with a description of the new Business Casual class, a clearer definition of our existing Traditional and Relaxed/Casual dress codes follows.
Traditional - Required for Formal Sängerhalle Events when noted
When you joined, you were given a “House Rules” which explained the Teutonia Dress Code. This dress code has been in place for years and members are asked to please respect it when attending events that are notated with “Traditional Dress Code.”
For Women: Traditional dress includes suits, dresses or skirts with dress blouse or dress slacks as well as dress shoes, flats or heels.
For Men: Traditional dress includes suits, or a sport coat with dress slacks, collared shirt and dress shoes. Ties are preferred.
Tracht: which are lederhosen and dirndls, is always acceptable and appreciated.

Business Casual - Required for Member's Meeting and most Sängerhalle Events
Business Casual attire is the clothing you wear in professional settings. It is less formal than traditional business wear, but is still intended to give a professional and businesslike impression.
For Women, business casual outfits for women include a skirt or dress slacks, blouse, sweater, twinset, jacket (optional), and hosiery (optional) with closed-toe shoes. Examples: Khaki, corduroy, twill, or cotton pants or conservative-length skirts; sweaters; twinsets; cardigans or polo/knit shirts.
For Men, business casual attire is dress slacks or chinos, a button-down or Polo/golf shirt, dark socks, and dress shoes. Examples: Khaki, gabardine, wool, or cotton pants neatly pressed; cotton long-sleeve button-down shirts pressed; sweaters; leather shoes and leather belt.
Tracht: which are lederhosen and dirndls, is always acceptable and appreciated.
What is unacceptable:
Relaxed or Casual - For daily visits in the Ratskeller and Biergarten
A relaxed or casual dress code is considered less formal than business casual but not necessarily what would be worn while lounging at home or doing yard work. Clothing that is comfortable and practical for the event, but not distracting or offensive to others.
For Women, items like clean T-shirts, blouses and sweaters on top. Bottoms might include clean jeans, cropped pants or shorts. Casual shoes can include sneakers, low heels or sandals.
For Men, items like clean T-shirts, button-down shirts or sweaters on top. Bottoms might include clean jeans, khaki pants or shorts. Casual shoes can include sneakers, loafers or sandals.
